MILL
History
DESCRIPTION
This large, solitary building was the old water mill, which was closed in 1960 and converted into a private house. In one part of the house there is a fountain, which was once a public fountain, but later remained for private use.
The mills were used to harness the energy of moving water, generally from rivers or streams, to carry out tasks such as grinding grain, pumping water or even generating electricity. Their operation is based on the force of water moving a wheel or turbine, converting this mechanical energy into useful work.
Historically, they have been fundamental in the development of many civilisations, allowing food and other resources to be produced more efficiently. Today, although they have largely been replaced by more modern technologies, they can still be found in some areas, both as part of cultural heritage and in renewable energy applications.
